When preparing a property for sale one of the key things to keep in mind is creating a space that appeals to all audiences so that you don’t alienate potential buyers that don’t share the same personal taste in décor, religion and etc. as yourself. While doing that we also have to remember that selling your property can be a very emotional process and depersonalizing it can be hard for home owners. With that in mind Patti Houston and I worked together in creating a generic art collection for Flüff Design & Décor to work cohesively with their existing accessories and pillows, with colour stories in mind. Ever since I was a little girl I remember being surrounded by amazing midcentury modern furniture at home and my aunts homes. This Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s MR Chaise Lounge was my Dad’s favourite chair; my friends even knew not to sit on it, as it was my dad’s spot! A 1927 German design, the chair’s cantilevered design uses tubular steel, then a technological novelty, to create an intuitively accessible and ergonomic seat.
My parents recently built their retirement home, a very contemporary project by my aunt and uncle who have been designing for our family throughout the years. Although the chair had been in our family for over 20 years, it was showing its age and it wouldn’t fit with the design of the newly built contemporary house.Being the creative person that Mom is, she decided to give a chair a completely new look by having spaghetti PVC string wrapped around the tubular steel.
The result, an up to date look to the midcentury modern chair.

We've entered a contest for a bowling pattern design to be printed on fabric. Inspired by Pop Art we utilized bright and loud colours and repetition with vintage bowling equipment images to illustrate the proposed theme.
